Kissa’s Book Club – Something Borrowed

I used to read books (before the days of iPads and Kindles), if anyone can believe it. I used to read a lot, actually. Fiction, Non-Fiction, Self Improvement, Mystery/Thriller…you name it. A few weeks ago, I decided that I missed reading. And now I had this flashy iPad where I could carry multiple books and magazines in one convenient and slim device. It was right in the palm of my hands. So off I went into the iBooks store and downloaded samples of anything that currently piqued my interest. And I came across this book…

It’s the story about Rachel who just turned 30 and hooks up with her best friend’s fiance. That’s as much as I’ll tell. You have to read the rest for yourself. 🙂

I didn’t know anything about this book. I just wanted a light read to breeze through and boy did I breeze through it. I finished this puppy in 3 nights. I stayed up til 3 am reading the book, I couldn’t put it down. But then again I’m like that with most books…and TV shows. It was an easy read, entertaining, and fun. After finishing the book I realized that there was a movie so you know I had to watch it!

The movie is obviously a pretty far reach from the book (as most movies are). And of course the book was better.

Overall, I give the book….

The movie…

Bottom line: Nothing profound or life changing about it. To be honest…if I weren’t the type of reader that I am I would say that there’s nothing cutting edge or nail biting about it. The only reason I couldn’t put it down was because I needed to know what was going to happen next. Nonetheless, I would recommend the book to one of my girlfriends. It’s an entertaining read.

Anyone have recommendations for light reads? Gladly accepting suggestions! 🙂
