I was having lunch with a friend about a month ago. We connected because of our faith, I could see how much change was happening through him. It was inspiring. It reminded me of that first time I realized I wanted to grow my relationship with God again. He told me his church was collaborating with another and will be doing an Easter Sunday mass at the Hollywood Bowl. Without even checking my schedule, I said we’d go.
Easter Sunday comes, and I wasn’t sure to expect. All I knew was that I was excited to go. The hour went by so quickly, too quickly I think. But it was enough.
As you can see, I was ecstatic to be there. The day was perfect for an outdoor event. A little cloud, a cool breeze, an occasional peek of sun here and there, and good company.
The Hollywood bowl was filled with people. It was an amazing sight to see. The main event was Pastor Francis Chan and his sermon really spoke to me. It made me realize and remember why I wanted a closer relationship with God. It made me realize I’ve strayed away from my spiritual goals and I want to make that decision to get back on track.
What an amazing day that was. Whenever I’m stressed, overwhelmed, or scared I just remember what Pastor Francis said that day. We need to make a complete turn and follow God instead of inviting him into my life. I want to know what it takes to lead a Godly life. I want Him to speak to me and show me what my calling is. And I’m ready, more than
ever, to let go and let Him take the lead.
