Dear Mom, I Just had to Tell You

Dear Mommy,

You know I think about you always and miss you every day. There are days or moments where I remember something from my childhood, from my wedding, or something after you were diagnosed. Sometimes the memories are good, sometimes they are sad, and sometimes they’re wishes that you were around for the new memories we are experiencing. One of those was the segment that showed on ABC7 last night.

Mom, we were part of a segment on channel 7 called “Global Gourmet” and I talked about Ninong’s and what our shop has to offer. I channeled you and told Tina (link) all about you, the family, and our little shop. I think you would have been so excited to talk to her. She asked about you too. I think you would be proud about how we have changed. I hope you would be proud.

I can already imagine seeing you cry from happiness. You cry about everything (I get that from you!). Dad and I would always tease you for that. But look at that, now I’m doing it! When big things happen like this I always wish you were here. I guess my consolation prize is knowing that you’re proud no matter what.

Miss you Mommy.

14 Day Blogging Challenge

So starting today I’m committing to writing 14 days in a row. Why?

Mainly because I’ve always been talking about how I want to get ahead of my blog schedule so that each post has intention, meaning, and valuable content instead of just spewing out whatever crosses my brain. My brain is in constant motion and is always thinking, it just doesn’t want to turn off. It’s great most of the time, except the rest of the time it just makes me forget a point and I start rambling which is just a waste of time for everyone.

So this is my first post! You guys won’t necessarily see 14 days in a row of posts but I just wanted to put this put this post onto my blog just to keep myself accountable. That and when I write on here I feel an immense responsibility to follow through with it. Thanks to planning ahead I’m going to be posting regularly on here and hope that future posts will be informative, inspiring, emotion, and relatable. So sit back, enjoy the ride, and I can’t wait to share what I have in store. 🙂

Xoxo,

Kissa

We’re Going to be on TV!

Holy moly! If you saw my post on Instagram a few weeks back I was interviewed by Tina Malave of ABC7. She does a segment called Eye on LA and thanks to some supportive fans she chose to feature us! What the?! Someone pinch me, am I dreaming?!

It was so much fun and an absolute pleasure having Tina and her team come and get to know us a little better. To have the honor of sharing our creativity, our story, and our family with Southern California is extremely humbling.

We have come a long, long way from the first days of opening in 2008. With hard work, dedication, and God’s grace we have had so many wonderful opportunities.

So catch me and the rest of the Ninong’s family on ABC7’s Eye on LA Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. AHHH! 😀

P.S. Once I have a streaming video of the segment I’ll update this post.

Xoxo,

Kissa
