February Goal Setting

Hello February! The last week and few days of January was full of jet lag and playing catch up so I’m really excited to start the new month of right. Still working through the jet lag but hey, at least I’m trying right?! 😛 I have 3 main goals this month.

First, to get back on my normal routine. Like I said, our trip completely messed up our sleeping schedule which got our productivity way down to just the bare minimum to get us by. I want to get back to waking up no later than 8 am, having breakfast, getting ready, working, exercising, having dinner, and repeat. Be in bed by 11 pm, sleep by midnight. Boom.

Secondly, I need to get on that diet life. We ate so much in the Philippines. Like anything and everything lol! So I did a smoothie diet for 3 days when we got back and now am on my low carb/keto diet. To be completely transparent here, though, I haven’t even stuck to it for the last week and a half I’ve been home. That’s why this month’s main focus is to buckle down and get serious about it.

Last but not least, my third goal for February is to update my household and spending budget. Ever since Charlie and I went full time ownership (meaning neither of us are employed by someone else) we’ve had to make some major adjustments to our lifestyle. One of those things is our spending habits. I created a list of everything we spend on – groceries, mortgage payments, utilities, cell phone, credit card payments, etc. so I can make rough estimate of how much we need every month. That way I can set our pay coming from the businesses at that amount. What I really want to do for this month is to start my long term goal of having a larger savings. I decided to give myself and Charlie an allowance of $40 each a week for spending money (clothes, shoes, eating out, etc.). Once that $40 is spent, it’s spent until next week’s $40. If we want to purchase something more than $40 we can save until we have the extra money to do so. 🙂

When I did an analysis of our spending last year most of it was from eating at restaurants. I really want to make this a habit so that we don’t over spend. Wish us luck lol!

Plan with Me No. 1

Hi everyone and happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week and are ready for the weekend.

Today I’m sharing my first vlog in over a year, a “plan with me” video on how I set up my Happy Planner. This is the exact one I got. I love it and I’ve only been using it for 4 weeks.

I use a combination of the Happy Planner, Evernote, and Todoist to stay organized (more on Evernote and Todoist later). Personally, I feel like these 3 elements make my world go ’round. Enjoy the derpy face on my video lol!

Reflecting on my Professional Purpose

As most of you know, I’ve been in the Philippines for the entire first 3 weeks of January. It was perfect timing as it gave me a chance to think about my career with a clearer mind. It’s hard, you know, thinking outside the box when you have to be in it all the time. I mean, how can you see outside the box if all you can see is what’s inside right?

Well, the Philippines gave me a chance to look outside in. It gave me a chance to think long and hard about what I want, who I am, and where I am in life. It forced me to ask questions about my career to see if it aligns with not only my professional goals but my personal as well. Asking these questions gave me a voice I never thought I had. Why? Because thinking about these tough questions made me realize that my personal and professional goals are one in the same. While I understand that it may not be the case for everyone, my personal and professional life is the same mainly because my businesses are my life. Ninong’s is a business owned by my family, real estate is a business started by my mom, and CO Creative Cartel is my creative outlet. There’s nothing unpersonal about it.

Realizing this gave me a light bulb moment. My voice matters, everyone’s voice matters. I have something to say and maybe, just maybe, someone out there wants to listen. Someone out there needs the help, is going through the same thing, or understands me and my journey. I realized at that moment that I have so much more to give. One of my passions is to just share as much as I can about what I’ve learned throughout this life. And that’s why I blog, that’s why I share here. Because I want to remembered for helping, for sharing, for giving and not for hoarding, for material things, or for hate.

I have to give credit to one of my best friends, Heather. We’ve known each other since we were 7 years old. Last year she started her own business and we’ve recently become accountability partners. She and I chat at least once or twice a week to help each other get things done. She has inspired me in so many ways, one of them being taking my personal brand to the next level. She’s helping me take pride in what I do and being more comfortable with showing people a small glimpse into my life. So thanks, Het! Thank you for helping come to this point, I’m so excited for the future.

So, what’s next? Stay tuned 😛 I’ll be updating this blog, the CO product line, my mission statement, etc. I’ll also be sharing more types of media here and I’m really excited for that! Til then, keep shining y’all. Talk soon.

Xoxo,
