Say Hello To Katie – My Friend and Assistant

Guys! Meet my fabulous assistant Katie!

Katie of katie Jeanette.com
We’ve been friends for quite some time now and when she saw that I was looking for an assistant she sent me a message. 🙂 OMG, I’m so glad she did. She took a chance on me and my crazy life lol! We’ve been working together for 4 months now, wow I can’t believe how fast the time went! She has been such a big help in getting my work life balanced and productive. Not only that, but she has helped working CO and Real Estate more fun! But enough about me, let’s talk about her. I asked her a few questions so you can get to know her better so make sure you read below! 😉

Katie is an aspiring blogger. Yay! Bloggers unite! Her site Katie Janette is absolutely gorgeous! Read about all things fashion, beauty, and lifestyle on her site or better yet if you’re a Bloglovin’ user like I am follow her blog so you never miss a beat!

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog!

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, I currently go to school for Communications/Marketing at CSUN. I love love love to dance, laugh with my friends, and I love food way too much lol. My blog is a way for me to express a creative side of me. It’s a blog about fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. I’ve always loved fashion and loved playing around with make-up and hair in different styles so I decided to make a blog about my favorite looks and beauty tips and tricks. I also added lifestyle for anything I like to add in that I do on a daily that I like to share.

Q: What made you interested in blogging?

I became interested in blogging after I start a “Katie’s Look Book” on Instagram few years ago. I started to become more inspired by other fashion influence’s and realized that I can add more meaning to my looks on a blog. I can share more insight on where I bought my clothes and how I style it.

Q: Is there anything you’ve learned that you would like to share with our readers? P.S. It’s ok if you haven’t lol! 😛

I learned that you should never be scared to start something new. It’s the fear that makes us feel like we’re not good enough to do something. But it’s also the fear that helps us get out of that mindset. We all need to know that it’s never going to be perfect, and that’s okay. We need to just go for it and we can figure it out along the way. If we never start, we will just keep wondering right? So don’t be scared to start something new.

Q: What was your present to yourself this year?

My present to myself this year was happiness. I learned that if I go through life with a positive mindset, my life would be so much better. Why bring negativity into your life when it would just bring you down? Happiness for me was everything this year. I became a lot closer to my family and friends. I decided to take risk even though it scared me, as long as I am happy with my decisions I will be okay.

Q: What are your top 3 goals for 2017?

My top 3 goals for 2017 would be…

  – Maintain a healthy lifestyle

  – Blog consistently

  – Have more conversations with people and spread more positive vibes!

2017 Card Designs and building my Product Line

I can’t believe there are only 2 weeks left in December! This holiday season was one of our best yet, I’m so grateful! But I don’t have much time to celebrate. I’m ready to take 2017 on by storm!

First thing’s first, vacation. 😉

Then it’s beast mode! We’re doing a trade show in the summer and I’ve been planning since last year. I’ve been working on new designs, refining my current line, and restocking our best sellers after the holiday season.

I really want my 2017 designs to reflect me, what I like, and what I’m about and I think the designs are progressing nicely. 🙂 I’m really starting to build my confidence as I go and the more I sketch.

As a designer, I’m my worst critic. Nothing is ever good enough for me but what I’m starting to see is that those things that I thought were “imperfections” are actually more like personality. It’s what makes my designs unique!

Do you ever suffer from confidence issues? Especially when you compare yourself to the other awesome people in your field? Happens to me all the time. But what I learned is that if I keep at it and don’t get lazy I gain more confidence. I think simply because I’m focused and I don’t have time to love other people’s work more than I love my own lol!

Xoxo,

Unique LA Holiday 2017 Recap – Stuff we Make

What a whirlwind last weekend was! Unique LA Holiday Show 2017 is 1 week behind us and I’m just barely recovering. It was so much fun! It’s always good to see old friends and booth neighbors, but the best part is seeing customers in person.
