Spring Cleaning Series – Natural Cleaning Recipes

One of the things I want to do is start to purge my house of harsh cleaning chemicals. I’ve created a list of recipes from floor cleaner to glass cleaner so I thought I’d share!

Floor cleaner:

  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dish soap
  • 1 gallon water

We have tile floors at home so this is great for tile or laminate flooring.

Glass cleaner:

  • 1/4 white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tbs corn starch

We also have granite countertops in our kitchen so I use a few drops of dish soap and water on a microfiber towel. This is gentle and won’t eat away at the stone.

For stainless steel appliances it’s a 2-step process.

Step1 – Stainless Steel Cleaner:

  • 1 part white vinegar
  • 1 part water

Step 2 – Once your surface is clean and dry polish with olive oil.

Happy cleaning!

Travel Series – To Do List

T Minus 2 days until we leave for Hawaii!

The Breathtaking Sunset View from the Hale Koa Hotel Pool

That means I have a lot to do before we leave for our trip. As an entrepreneur, preparing for a trip (business or pleasure) takes a lot of preparation. Not only do you have to think about the things you need to do that are pertaining to your trip, but you also have to think about the processes that are laid in place so that your business doesn’t fall apart while you’re gone. Granted, we’re only going to be gone for 4 days – and you know what they say, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”

Either way, I have a lot of prep to do before we leave!

Vacation related:

  • Look through updated packing list and start putting things aside
  • Take fur baby to the groomer
  • Do laundry
  • Clean up the house
  • Run the dishwasher
  • Wash sheets

Business related:

  • Create daily agendas for my team
  • Create opening, midday, and closing checklists for my team
  • Send out all online orders
  • Prepare timesheet for payroll
  • Write blog posts
  • Schedule social media content
  • Pay bills
  • Make sure kitchen is fully stocked for the weekend
  • Fill the managers in for what to expect this week

It’s a lot, I know. I’m getting overwhelmed just thinking about it. If you could only see my Todoist app now, it’s all of this in more detail. GAH! But it’s ok, all I can do is chip away at the list – 1 thing at a time.

xoxo,

Kissa

Word for 2018

Happy new year, Friends!

If you‘be been following me around in the last couple years you’ll now that ever year I choose a word the sets the tone for the upcoming 12 months. Last year, my word of the year was “Forward” and the year definitely lived up to its name.

In 2017 I laid a foundation for the current year. A lot of work had been done in 2017 to hopefully make 2018 the best year yet!

I’ve been thinking about what my word for 2018 would be for months now. I know this might seem silly but it’s a big deal to me. I just feel like it’s really important for me to have a running theme. Before I reveal my word for 2018 I’d like to lay a little bit of back story on how I chose it.

In October and November I reflected extensively on the past year. I set my goals based on what I have accomplished, what I didn’t get to cross off my list, and the foundation I set for the upcoming years. Because of that, I realized that this year’s word for 2018 is BUILD.

* I want to build a happy family with my husband

* I want to build successful businesses

* I want to build my relationship with God and involve Him in everything I do

* I want to build relationships with people

* I want to build confidence in myself

What is your word for the year?
