Dreams and Realities – Installment No. 2

We’ve been enjoying life and planning for the future a lot lately. I guess time does that to a person, it forces you to look at life a certain way. Right now, our outlook is on the near future – what we hope to accomplish in the next 3 years, how our lifestyle is going to change, what we’re going to do with our financial plan, etc. Basically, stuff that makes me superย excited. Charlie – not so much. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But once again, it’s got my mind daydreaming and drifting off into the land of possibilities. So, here’s our Dreams vs. Realities #2.

  • Thanks to the Keynote at the Worldwide Developer’s Conference, I’m itching to buy us new computers! Maybe a Macbook Air for myself and a Macbook Pro for the hubby! These are interchangeable, of course ๐Ÿ˜‰
  • A jet-setting getaway to an location far, far away. Preferably something beachy, with a cocktail in hand!
  • Live the city life. Live in a condo in a downtown/urban area with coffee shops at the base floor of my building, be able to walk or bike everywhere, and still have room for my home office ๐Ÿ™‚
  • Wake up and lose a dress size. HA! That’s a slap on the leg!

  • The computer upgrades might have to wait, but it’s definitely on my list for things to buy for us!
  • Looks like the body is yearning for some high intensity cardio. Maybe some dance or fitness classes are in order.
  • Charlie and I may not be able to take a jet-setting vacation this summer, but it looks like we may be able to get away with a 4-day mini vacation. So excited for this! Cocktails are a’waiting!
  • That city life may come true, we’ll see what our future will hold ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Friday everyone!

Disney’s Cars Inspired Cake

Today is very exciting for me. It’s my first time sharing with all my readers the cakes that Charlie and I do. Those that know me knows that my family owns a local bakery in Granada Hills called Ninong’s Pastries & Cafe. I’ve been around Filipino baking and cooking my entire life because of them. Lucky me! In October of 2008, after a long story of money wasted, we opened Ninong’s for the first time. And to be honest, we had no idea what we were in for. But, it has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my life.

We’ve done many cakes before, which you can find on the Ninong’s Facebookย and Tumblr Blog. But It’s such a big part of out lives that I just feel like I need to share it here. So today, I’m going to share an adorable cake we did for a 1st birthday.

Jayden’s mom and dad (awesome parents!) came in on a busy, busy weekend. So busy I couldn’t even remember if it was Saturday or Sunday. They came in and said, we want a Cars cake and after talking with them about what they wanted I immediately said SURE! They came in to visit the day before their 10 am pick up and saw us working on the cake and they made us even MORE excited to get this cake done for their cutie patootie!

They went with our popular red velvet with cream cheese filling and requested to add some fresh strawberries.

Here’s my favorite little guy ๐Ÿ™‚
