for me. My mom, a beautiful loving woman, was born on this day. So ever since I could understand the concept of birthdays (which was at an early age thanks to birthday presents lol) I knew that January 8th would always be a special day. But for the past 5 years or so, January 8th was a bit more special because 2 very important people shared the same birthday: my Mom and Ray Ray.

Last year, Jan. 8th was a bittersweet day. I wrote about it here. While I still miss Ray so much, this year I celebrate that I still have very important people here on Earth with me. I’m so thankful that my mom is alive and working toward recovery. A new journey

2014 Calendar Printable

I can’t believe 2013 is almost over. We’re less than 2 weeks away from 2014 and I’m so ready for a new year. There are so many changes coming next year and I’m just so excited for it all to happen! More on that as they come 🙂

If you’re like me, you’re starting to think about how you’re going to organize your upcoming year. And though I love me a good planner, I’m not willing to spend an arm and a leg for a calendar. I went over to Target and bought this navy and gold polka dot beauty in the 8.5″ x 5.5″ size. I bought some sleeve protectors to organize my random crap and stuck a notepad on the inside cover using the 3m removable tabs. Last thing I needed: calendar.

I designed a simple and modern design with a little pop of color for each month. I just needed a place to keep track of event dates and a place to jot down notes, so this design worked perfectly for me.

If you’d like the printable, you can download it here. The calendar runs from January – December, 2014. Just cut some nice high quality letter paper in half and run it through your printer. Voila!

Unique LA Holiday Show

This year’s Unique LA Holiday Show was absolutely amazing! It was our 3rd time showcasing our products and we had a great response. We changed our booth design and shared a booth with the fabulous Diana Corredin.

After doing Unique LA for the 3rd time, you start to get more and more creative with your booth and want to push the envelope every time. This year, we scrapped our old look and went with a different table scape.

To keep the cohesiveness of the booth Diana did a similar design. I love her stuff! She’s such a talented designer.

We wanted to make the booth walls look really different from everyone else’s so we took sheets of paper and created a “fly away” look with craft paper and white bond paper. It looked even better than we anticipated and got so many compliments on it during the show!

The most popular item for us? Our Jesus Birthday card. We got so many compliments! I was debating on whether or not to sell our paper goods at the show, but I’m glad I decided to do it!

I absolutely love being a vendor at Unique. They work so hard to make the event a success for the vendors as well as the shoppers. It’s such a great quality show and I’m so excited to possibly do other Unique shows in the future 🙂

Thanks to all that came and supported us and the other spectacular local businesses. Til next year!
