Around Here

You know that saying..”Getting your ducks in a row.” That’s me right now. Charlie and I have established our goals, personally and professionally and we’re ready to get ‘er done! (excuse the tacky slang)

I love being able to work on both Ninong’s and CO. When I first started at Ninong’s, CO had to take a temporary pause since I had so much to learn and a lot of adjustments had to be made. Now that I feel like I’ve settled in and I have a good team I’ve been able to get back into CO and things have really flourished since then.

Since the new year, I’ve really been thinking hard about CO and where I want to be. What products and services do I want to offer? What are we currently offering that I don’t feel passionate about anymore? And though these will be questions I will always have to ask, I’m starting to feel like I’m coming into my own. I have a plan in place, I’ve written it down, and I’m taking the baby steps to get closer and closer. It feels so good to be motivated and working toward something you want for yourself so badly.

My App Faves of the Month

With this new year and all the change that’s happening, I’ve really been relying on technology to help keep me organized. I’ve decided to share some of my top 4 multi-tasking helpers that keep me from pulling my hair out from all the overwhelming stress!

Apple’s Calendar App

Apple’s Calendar App. The best part? Syncing with my iPhone, iPad, and Macbook. No matter what device, my schedule is at a glance.

Mailbox App

Mailbox App. It helps me keep my inbox organized. I have so many incoming emails throughout the day and it’s so hard to keep up! But this helps me get that inbox to zero while making sure I get back to those important emails in a timely fashion.

Etsy App

The Etsy App. I love that I can manage my Etsy store on the go. It notifies me as soon as I get an order with a nice little cha-ching!

Trello App

Trello. Looking for an easy way to organize projects, events, orders…you name it!? Trello has been such a great app for me. I’ve used it to plan events, to manage orders, and collaborate with colleagues! Not only that, but it’s free! You can also get Trello Gold and Trello for Business at a very affordable price.

The bottom line though, these apps are no good unless you really use them. Just like anything else, you can’t rely on these things to do the work for you. Are you going to take time and put in your appointments in your calendar? Siri can’t remind you about them unless they’re in there. Are you going to manage your projects so you don’t forget to ship out that order? It’s all up to you.

Happy organizing!

Unique LA Holiday Show

This year’s Unique LA Holiday Show was absolutely amazing! It was our 3rd time showcasing our products and we had a great response. We changed our booth design and shared a booth with the fabulous Diana Corredin.

After doing Unique LA for the 3rd time, you start to get more and more creative with your booth and want to push the envelope every time. This year, we scrapped our old look and went with a different table scape.

To keep the cohesiveness of the booth Diana did a similar design. I love her stuff! She’s such a talented designer.

We wanted to make the booth walls look really different from everyone else’s so we took sheets of paper and created a “fly away” look with craft paper and white bond paper. It looked even better than we anticipated and got so many compliments on it during the show!

The most popular item for us? Our Jesus Birthday card. We got so many compliments! I was debating on whether or not to sell our paper goods at the show, but I’m glad I decided to do it!

I absolutely love being a vendor at Unique. They work so hard to make the event a success for the vendors as well as the shoppers. It’s such a great quality show and I’m so excited to possibly do other Unique shows in the future 🙂

Thanks to all that came and supported us and the other spectacular local businesses. Til next year!
