June Favorites

This month was a personal triumph for me. It was the first month in a long time that my goals were all to make me better as a person instead of just an entrepreneur. As a self-proclaimed work-a-holic this is a big step for me. This month, my favorite things have helped me to keep my perspective throughout the day as well as make me feel good about myself.

The Morning Mindset Podcast by Carey Green. I’ve listened to this every morning for the last 2 months and it has done so much for my well being and positive mindset. It’s a quick 5 minute daily podcast that gives you a little shot of The Word every day. Perfect for my quick drive to work every morning.

I bought a desk organizer to elevate my computer screen and create more usable space on my desk. This has been really helpful with my posture and back. Since I use a laptop I tend to hunch down to look at my screen. Now that it’s elevated closer to eye level it has helped me to sit up straight.
I had my fair share of sleepless nights this month, mostly because I want an iced coffee and I’m stupid enough to drink it at 4 pm. Not to mention those nights when I do actually fall asleep but I’m not really sleeping which happens more often than not. Whenever I’ve had a hard time sleeping I take a couple of these melatonin gummies when I’m ready for bed. 2 of them are the recommended dosage and I’m out like a light. It has really helped me get a good night’s sleep.

Short hair restaurant owner problems, amirite? My hair is this asymmetric longer on the right side and short everywhere else. It’s cute when it’s down and fixed. It even works for itself when it’s air dried. But pulling it back? OMG it’s a disaster. My hair is too short in the back so I always have these 2 patches on each side of my neck. Not cute to say the least. These headbands add a little character and help tuck those stray hairs back. Plus, it helps me look like I tried a little harder lol 😂

If there’s anything that’s a must for me lately, it’s my eyebrow pencil. If I have that and a little bit of mascara and lip gloss I feel a little put together. I absolutely love this eyebrow pencil from Benefit Cosmetics. Considering how crazy it is to work in a kitchen and a dining room this pencil is still there at the end of the day which is more to say than most eyebrow products I’ve tried in the past.

May Favorites

Zamn! We’re approaching the end of May. Time for a favorites post!

I got this Wet ‘n Wild Mascara Lash Renegade Mascara and now it’s my go-to! I have really short, fine lashes and this gives me the volume and length I desperately need. Plus, it’s water proof and this girl got that watery eye goin on! Especially during allergy season. Dat packaging doe!

I just starting using a tried and true scrub again recently – the St. Ives Apricot Scrub. This month my goal was to mask twice a week and exfoliate 2 other days in the week on top of my daily skincare routine.  I didn’t really stick to my mask goal this month but I’ve been exfoliating regularly. This scrub does wonders for my skin! I always try different options but always go back to this. Can’t go wrong!

Speaking of skin, you guys know that I’m crazy about dry brushing. But last month I forgot to mention my exfoliating gloves!  I have these gloves by Eco Tools and they’re ah-may-zing! My friend and assistant Katie told me about them and I don’t think I can ever go back to a regular loofah. Use this with you favorite body wash and after a while you’ll notice the difference. Your skin feels so smooth!

We got an essential oil diffuser for Christmas last year and we finally got around to using it! I love sitting in our “Piano Room” and turning the diffuser on while I read. So relaxing. If you’re new to essential oils this is the one we got and it comes with a variety of popular oils to start with. You can also buy the diffuser by itself.

Last but not least! Oh man. This changed the game! I know I’ve heard about Amazon Pantry and other grocery delivery services. But Instacart has won my heart (that rhymes lol!). At least for now. You can click on this link or use code CSOLOMON224119 to get $10 off your first order. I know, it’s a long code. I didn’t create it lol.

Let me know if you have any favorite products or services you’ve been using this month!

April Favorites

This month has been an interesting one. A lot of ups and downs, Easter, tax day, warm weather, cold weather. I just feel like it’s been a weird one. With all these highs and lows it has taken a toll on me mentally and physically so looking for a routine and things that pick me up has been really important.

I’ve been really tired lately, I’m thinking it’s just because I can’t mentally relax. I’m always thinking, trying to stay on my toes, and be alert. Needless to say, the bags and dark circles under my eyes are starting to form. I cry as I type this! Yo’ gurl gettin’ old! Luckily I discovered this Botanics All Bright Eye Roll-On 0.5 oz. Changed my world! I use it in the morning and before bed. I really like the feeling of the roll on, it cools and tightens the skin under my eyes.

While we’re talking skincare I started dry brushing a few months ago and really love it! It’s great for exfoliating and leaves my skin feeling nice and smooth. Not only that but it has a lot of benefits. It improves digestion, stimulates your lymphatic system, helps with cellulite and circulation, among other things. Not only that but the brush is only a few dollars! Really inexpensive for all the benefits of dry brushing. I got one that looks similar to this one below. Maybe I’ll write a post on how to dry brush!

When we went to Hawaii last February with Charlie’s family, his parents bought us all Hydroflasks and it changed the way I drink water. I  know it sounds really petty but I’ve been eyeing a Hydroflask for a while and they had these really nice ombre designs at The Exchange (the gift shop at the Hale Koa Hotel). Working in a restaurant it’s so important to stay hydrated as you’re walking around for 12+ hours and working in a hot kitchen. We got the 40 oz bottles with the wide mouth straw lid. It keeps our waters cold all day! Love it!

If you follow me on Instagram and watch my Instagram stories you know how much I love to use my planner. This month, I decided to change it up and try to go fully digital using my iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. I was really hesitant (stationery nerd over here) but for over a year I’ve been carrying my iPad Pro and my planner with me everywhere. You can’t believe how heavy it is. I told myself that I would do both a paper and digital planner for the month of April but (spoiler alert) I’m really loving the digital planner I created. More on that later but just know that I.Love.My. Digital.Planner. Can’t live without it and probably won’t go back to paper. Though I know I’ll be tempted. What can I say, paper is just my jam. You can’t believe how much guilt I feel about going fully digital lol! Planner Addicts, trust me. If you already have an iPad and Apple Pencil or if you’ve been wanting one go for it! It’s a game changer!

I also have the Smart Cover with the keyboard and I can’t live without that either.
